The Flottmann Halls in Herne

Straße des Bohrhammers 5, 44625 Herne
Cultural center Event location City hall/meeting center Museum/Exhibition Industrial culture diverse Conference venue

Formerly a manufacturing site for drill hammers, today an exhibition space for unique works of art.

A visit to the Flottmann-Hallen Herne is a journey of discovery into a world where art and industrial history merge. Co-operations with renowned academies and art colleges promote the exchange of current trends and strengthen the creative ambience. The focus is on innovative projects that shape the exhibition space itself and constantly offer fresh impressions.

A particular highlight is the Kuboshow art fair, which has been offering visitors a platform to acquire high-quality and accessible works of art for over two decades. Not only is art experienced here, but future talent is also discovered.

The impressive sculpture park was launched back in 2004, with a steady expansion accompanying the Capital of Culture year RUHR.2010. Over 22 impressive sculptures, including works by artists such as Heinrich Brockmeier and Peter Schwickerath, transform walks into a high-calibre art experience. These works invite visitors to explore the relationship between art and nature in an open space.

A particular focus is on the artistically designed, wrought-iron Art Nouveau gate by Karl Weinhold, which sets a historical accent and recalls the industrial past - then used as the entrance gate to the Flottmann-Werke company premises, now part of the cultural heritage.

The Flottmann Halls are not just an event venue, but a creative playground that attracts the curious and inspires with impressive exhibitions and innovative events.
