The Ruhr Games 25 will take place in Bochum from July 17 to 20, 2025 as part of the World University Games and form a special edition of the festival. The focus will be on demonstration competitions in action sports and new Olympic disciplines. Unlike in previous years, there will be no classic competitive sports competitions at this edition. Instead, the event will be complemented by a varied cultural and social program.
Venues such as the Jahrhunderthalle Bochum and the adjacent Westpark will be the setting for workshops, urban art, live music and hands-on activities. The combination of sport, culture and youth encounters makes the Ruhr Games a unique event in Europe.
As part of the supporting programme of the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games, the Ruhr Games are organized by the gGmbH of the FISU Games, with financial support from the Regionalverband Ruhr (RVR). Together, the two events are expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors and international participants.
