Whether at the Medieval Market or between fairy tales and floating Father Christmases, this year's market will once again be packed with attractions and a total of around 200 stalls, transforming it into a world of its own. Bochum Marketing GmbH is organising this year's Christmas market in Bochum's city centre between 21 November and 23 December 2024 (closed: Totensonntag, 24 November 2024).
A real crowd-puller is the Christmas market in Bochum city centre from Thursday, 21 November, to Monday, 23 December 2024 (closed: Dead Sunday, 24 November 2024). It not only offers 200 lovingly decorated market stalls, a medieval market, a fairytale forest, an ice curling rink and huge light sculptures, but also an attraction that is unique in the Ruhr region in the form of a Father Christmas who "takes to the skies". Even the name behind the "Flying Father Christmas" foreshadows great things. After all, Falko Traber comes from a famous family of high-wire artists. At a height of 33 metres, he floats over Dr.-Ruer-Platz on his sleigh pulled by reindeer. The route is 125 metres long, and for the visitors these are exciting minutes. Father Christmas tells a Christmas story above the heads of the spectators. Afterwards, Santa is especially pleased by children who recite a poem or sing a song together with him. It pays to be brave - a surprise awaits the little participants.
